EXODUS
Exodus is a Greek word which means "departure" and is derived from ek (1537), "out of," and hodós (3598), "road." The Hebrew title (the first words of the Hebr. text) means "and these are the names of."
The Book of Exodus describes the deliverance of the Israelites from Egypt, their journey to Mount Sinai, and the events that occurred during their sojourn there.
The patriarch Jacob had brought his family to Egypt to avoid starvation (see Gen. 46:1- 27). When the Hyksos invaded Egypt and gained political power, the descendants of Jacob were forced into slavery (Ex. 1:8, 10).
Despite the bitterness of their bondage, Jacob's descendants grew from a family of seventy (see note on Gen. 46:26, 27) into a nation of about two million (based on the figure of six hundred thousand men over twenty years of age, Ex. 12:37). The primary emphasis in Genesis was on the family of Abraham, but the Book of Exodus focuses on the developing nation of Israel.
The main theme of Exodus is redemption. The deliverance of the children of Israel from bondage in Egypt is a type of all redemption, and Moses who led them is a type of Christ. EXODUS
Summary and things to note. God says, I Yahweh God of creation am the only God (there is no other). You may not have known it from your forefathers, whom I wiped out in a flood, so I’m going to prove it to you. Thereafter (EX 10:2) have belief in what I say and follow my commands (not The Commandments yet) without question, using your own reasoning etc. I will not be proving myself again in such ways. (You will prove me through your faith) It is My way or death. Whether it is one person or thousands, disobedience provokes my wrath and I punish if not kill. Questioning my appointed representative Moses, through whom I speak, is questioning me. I neither reason, explain myself, give two chances etc. I am a jealous God and it is only (fortunate for you) that I made a promise to Abraham in Gen 26:5 why you are getting this chance to be My people.
These are the signs of my Godness and why only I should receive your praise and worship. Plagues of Egypt which did not touch you, especially the death of the first born (all these plagues attacked certain pagan god’s on whom pagan’s relied and worship i.e darkness against the sun, attacking agriculture (their prosperity) to show real god Jehovah has control and their so called god’s can do nothing to stop.. Parting the Red sea, going before and behind you with ball of fire or cloud of smoke, hearing my voice from heaven, feeding vast No. of you and animals in wilderness for years with food from heaven and water from impossible places. Have you ever seen that? NO. Can any other of your gods do them? NO
Exodus Texts to Note.
Moses is born, raised in Pharaoh’s palace. Why, how does this fit into God’s plan? For access back to Pharaoh?
Moses marries daughter of priests of Midian Ex 2:16 (whether she is Ethiopian or 1st wife dies and he remarried an Ethiopian as Abraham remarried after Sarah’s death is left to you. See Num 12:1, Hab 3:7). Note Moses father in Law (Jethro) was wise and Moses respected him (Ex 18:14-20). Note Mountain of God Ex 3:1,12. (someone said they heard was same mount on which Jesus was crucified as that Abraham took his son; but I have not checked if true). Name and character of God, I AM (Ex 3:14, 6:3, Psm 68:4, Heb 13:8, Jhn 8:58, Rev 1:4
Ex 4:16 Aaron is Moses’s mouth and Moses as God to Aaron.. Moses objects to being leader (EX 3:11,13, 4:1,10). Ex 4:21 God hardens Pharaoh’s heart (see Ex 10:1,20;27; 11:1; 14:1;and Deut 2:30). 4:24 God almost kills Moses for not circumcising son. Wife saves.
Ex7:12,22, 8:7, 10:1 Note magicians NOT of God could do miracles too. From whom did they get their power and what was purpose? To make Pharaoh etc doubt supremacy of Jehovah and turn away from Him? So today’s miracle workers not necessarily sign of holy people or God’s servant. (8:18 could not be copied).
Ex7:16, 8:1 let them go to “serve me”. Later all them and their possession. They cannot serve me in foreign land (the world) but must separate themselves Ex 8:26.
Ex 9:20-21 Note blessings fall on those who fear and believe God and visa versa (Israel or Egyptian, Jew or gentile). One standard of salvation for all.
Ex 10:17 Pharaoh who in 5:2 said “who is this God that I should obey him” now ask for forgiveness from that same God and a blessing in 12:32. See 14:18
Ex12:1, 13:14 Passover. Start of God’s year based on lunar months. (Jewish, not January) Originally called Abib (13:4) until Babylon’s captivity then called Nisan (Neh 2:1; Esther 3:7). Jesus crucified during this time as the Passover Lamb note 12:46 why Jesus’ legs not broken (Num 19:12, Psm 34:20; Jhn 19:36; 1Cor 12:7)(Jesus killed at Passover Mth 26:17, Mrk 14:12, Luk 22:1, Jhn 13:1). Note 12:6,9,11,22,33 and 12:15,16 (holy convocation), 24 (forever). Note v48 rules not only for Jews.
Ex 12:38 “mixed multitude” left not only descendants of Israel.
Ex 12:40 430 yrs as rounded number given to Abraham in Gen 15:13
Ex 13:7,8,14 (also Ex 22:29 for redeem). 13:17 God took them long way to show his power over Red Sea as another testimony .for generations? V40 Joseph’s bones taken (did he request this when dying?)
EX 15:3 Some Christian’s (Jehovah Wit) refuse to fight when being persecuted by Hindu, Muslim etc forgetting God and his servants, Joshua, David etc were of war.
Ex 15:16; 19:5 “IF” “peculiar/(different from world) people onto me”. God’s blessings always come with condition keep His commandments etc. Any luck by other means could be to fool you, to keep on wrong path of breaking God’s ways.
Ex 16:4 to PROVE them. If will walk in laws which some say did not exist before given to Moses in 20:8.
Ex 16:12,13, Ex 16:23, 28-9,
Ex 17:6 water from rock (1Cor 10:4 rock as Christ as symbolically bread is his body in Mat 26:26) Num 20:8-11, Psm 78:15-1
Ex 19:10,22 come before God washed, clean from world’s dirt or ways.. V13 Ignorance is no excuse even for mindless beasts. 20:24-5 God’s things must be natural. Later will note in garments of priests’, building of temple etc.
Ex 20:1-17 The Commandments. 1-4 Reverence to God, 6-10 behaviour to fellow man. All consist of Love. See Deut 6:5, Lev 19:18, Mat 22:35-40. Note 20:8 “remember” means there from before ie Gen 2:3.
Ex 12:1 What is a judgement. Ex21:12-14 note how God specific and covers all options. Note 22:16-20,25. verse 27 see Mark 10:50man left his last possession. V29 see Ex 13:13.
23:11 see Lev 25:1-7, 23:14,17 all men go before God see Lev 23 (as in Acts 2:1 purpose of speaking in tongues to spread gospel quickly) Note Ex 23:33, Ex 24:4-5.
Ex 24:12, 2 Chron 19:10 Law, Commandments, statutes Judgements = 4 different things. So When Paul in N.T refers to Law it is not the Commandments nor Sabbath all of which are still to be kept.. Ex 24:18 No. 40 one of God’s numbers. Ex 25:32 Jewish candle holder.
Ex 26:31-35 The veil, a “separation” was hung between the Holy of Hollies and the Holy Place. Its function to separate all men, even the priests, from the presence of God. Only one man, the high priests, went beyond that veil and he was permitted to do so only once per year on the Day of Atonement (Lev 16 1-19). His purpose was to take the blood of the bull and goat to atone for his sins and that of the people. Meaning, man was separated from God by reason of sin and could approach (not get automatic forgiveness) Him only through blood which was presented by a priest. At Jesus’ death the veil was torn in two (Math 27:51). Jesus went beyond that veil (Heb 9:12,24) as high priest (Heb 9:11, 7:23-28) taking his own blood (Heb 9:12) and making full atonement (Heb 10:10-12). Through Jesus sinners can approach God for forgiveness. Just like a criminal approaches a court’s judge through a lawyer. But the lawyer can only put the facts, the case to the judge. Jesus must be able to put a good case for you starting with you kept of tried to keep The Commandments, (ALL GOD’s NOT Man’s) in addition you showed love to the poor and needy by feeding them, clothing etc.
Ex 27:7 carrying Altar on shoulders so as not to touch it which causes death (see 2Sam 6:7. Obviously others must have touched it i.e Philistines when captured it or putting it on the cart etc. Yet they were not killed so why poor Uzzah who was born centuries after law given. Could it be because he was part of “my people” God’s people? Same as man in Num 15:2 who was killed for collecting sticks on the Sabbath. Surely many pagans etc collected sticks on the Sabbath. Why were they not punished (in this earthly world) ?)
Ex 28:10 another example of God’s specific requirements, even “according to their birth” not in any order. Thus any day of worship is not acceptable to God especially after He gave specific instructions on a sanctified and separated 7th day!!. There are many more examples of God’s specific and detailed instructions in the texts to the end of Exodus. Showing Jehovah leaves nothing to own reasoning, any way will not suit Him.
Ex 29:39 times of morning and evening sacrifice. This taken into N.T at hour of pray in Acts 2:15; 3:1 (9a.m and 3p.m same time Jesus died as evening sacrifice. Nothing with God is by chance or coincidence. Hence Jesus did not even change that).
Ex 30:9 “no strange incense, meat or. drink offering” ONLY what I prescribed or die (see Lev 10:1, Jude 1:7). Do you want to risk offering God a strange worship time? How stiffnecked are you clinging to man’s ways, offering it to Jehovah as His? Ex 30:38 Even God’s scent is for Him only.
Ex 31:3, 35:31 “filled him with spirit of God” to do my work as were apostles in Acts two, tongues not edify self. Also John the Baptist and Jesus.
Ex 31:13 “Sabbath is sign for all generations not for specific period i.e until Romans change it. That you recognise me as your God. The only thing that distinguish me from other so called gods. (Ex 31:18 Com’s written with finger of God).
Ex32:4-6 They made gold idols and claimed it brought them out of Egypt. The priest held a feast to idols and claimed it was to God. Offered sacrifices to idols and believed they did it to Jehovah.. They had only recently said “All the words which the Lord has said we will do Ex 24:3. Today pastors and Christians say they are serving God by doing what His bible says yet many attribute things of satan to God. A false day, music, etc. Calling a day holy or music gospel does not make it so because that is how some like it nor because the pastor interprets God’s bible to suit you or him. Holy is what God says is. Practice what Moses, the prophets and Jesus did not what pastors say. Ex 34:14
Ex 32:10-14 God would have wiped them out and start again from Moses if not for his pleading; but even Moses killed 3,000 of them when he knew what God knew (v28,31). Jesus may be pleading with God every false worship day to give you another chance to hear the true gospel and turn from celebrating the “day of the sun god”. Well, now you’ve heard. Maybe not for the first time; but could be your last.
Ex 32:25-29 How loyalty of Levites earned them right to serve God above others. See Ex 19:6,22,24; 28:1; Num 3:10; 25:6-13.
Ex 33:11, 20-23, 34:30. Ex 34:1 New tables of commandments to replace broken ones. Hence replace does not mean change in essence, content or meaning such as some pastors use Jer 31:31-33; Heb 8:10,13; 10:16. It was new place i.e heart not new content.
Ex 34:20, 35:2-3
New recent Bible reading observations in relation to recent discussions (I may have mentioned some before). Main observation relates to what God wrote on the stone tables. For copy of previous observations send me an email. Note relates to King James version.
EXODUS
Ex 1:17 Because of 1Pet 2:13 some misunderstand and think they are to follow all that governments instruct. But not if instructions are contrary to God’s law (Dan 3:16, 18; Acts 4:19; 5:29
Ex 3:12 “..ye shall serve God upon this mountain”. Was the reason for the separation from Egypt, a country of service to false gods. God prescribed the way He was to be served which included feast days of Lev 23. His way was a “memorial unto all generations” v15 as Abraham was to be the father of all generations obedient to God. See also Ex 7:16; 8;1 and others “serve me”
Same way we “sacrifice” up our time and sometimes will for our employer in return for the salary blessing, i.e doing it the bosses way or get punished with the sack; it is why Ex 3:18 uses “sacrifice” to God. Not for forgiveness of sins. Remember the covenants “if you would keep my may I will bless you, if not I’ll punish and the reply was ALL that thou say we will do! (Ex 15:26). Ex16:4, 29 to prove them before Ex 20:8 hence the word “remember”. See also Ex 19:5-6, 20:20
Ex 4:15 God put words into Moses’ mouth and Moses into Arron’s. So was not Law’s of Moses or his way but God’s.
I have recently talked about Israel being God’s 1st born and compared to Jesus His beloved 1st born Ex 4:22. ALSO real bondage is being in the world. God’s 1st son was IN bondage when God took him OUT AND THEN gave son the ways of God his father. i.e being in God’s way is freedom and out is in bondage NOT the reverse as Christians are taught. i.e keeping the Laws are going back into bondage. See how satan turns everything upside down. Ex 6:5-6. The Laws are God’s “division” similar to 8:23. What God’s people relish are abominations to satan’s and visa versa (Ex 8:26) i.e as why Daniel and 3 Hebrew boys names were changed.
Ex 12:1 God’s day starts at evening (sunset) when both major host of heaven are at their weakest, satan’s at midnight height of moon (darkness). God’s year in Abib [end March beginning April] (Ex 13:4, Neh 2:1, Esther 3:7). See 12:11 when year is marked by Passover. God started afresh with his people / son. Started their year, spiritual life and freedom together. The day’s of unleaven bread is like a fast (detox) to purge / cleanse their bodies Ex 12:15. Satan’s yr starts 1 January when days start to get longer and sun is reborn. See how nothing of God’s shares with that of satan (darkness and light, unrighteousness and rightousness, truth mixed with lie etc. If one would only read the Bible over and over in it’s entireity they would realise this. One is either for God or against Him. Not keeping one of His ways is not keeping all. These ways were for the “stranger” (New Tes Gentile’s) also not only the son but adopted son v19. [“sons” v24]. If the son went out the house (the law) [v22] he would suffer the same punishment as those unprotected by the Law. However, if he ran back in on time, he would be saved (my spin taken from Rom 11:23 ”… for God is able to graff them in again”. It is interesting to note the Muslims and some other religions commence their year about the same time as Abib. The Muslims also celebrate Ramadam, based on the Jewish day of Atonement. How ironic, Christian are trying to bring Muslims and others to their Christianity mixed with ungodly paganism rather than take the beam out of their eye before or at lest while trying to correct others. At the beginning of January 2011 pastors and sermon gives were wishing the congregation happy new year. When the issue was raised with them, they didn’t see the harm. Maybe at Ramadan some should wish them a happy new year as if they are a Muslim and see how they feel.
Exo 12:41, 48 “.. that all the hosts of the LORD went out from the land of Egypt.” “hosts being mass of persons (Strong’s Hebrew dictionary). God has always outstretched His merciful hand to everyone. Whether they take it is another matter. Noah’s preaching, Cornelius the centurion of Acts 10:1 etc. Today the fear of God has gone from people due to his long suffering so that 14:31 does not apply. It is out of sight out of mind with most humans today. Unless they see like doubting Thomas they won’t believe. At some time they will realise God has another side as in 15:3!!
Ex 13:13; 22:29
Ex18:16 before Ex 20, Tables of stone of Ex 24;12 Moses knew God’s way to be able to use for judgement and teaching people. Same Laws that God said “I have written” (past tenses in 24:12).
Ex 19:3 Moses went up unto God; but this is before he went up and got the tables of stone in 24:12. During this instruction he got the ten commandments and other laws s for building an altar, treatment of servants, laws against violence and others including the keeping of feast of first fruits in (22:29) and the seventh yearly and seventh day Sabbaths in Ex 23:10-12
Ex 20:24 Offerings and sacrifices are not merely for sins. There are peace, heave as well as sin offerings (i.e. 29:27). It was only the sin offerings, the Day of Atonement in particular, that Jesus replaced Heb 5:1 For every high priest taken from among men is ordained for men in things pertaining to God, that he may offer both gifts and sacrifices for sins:
Ex23:1-9 continuation of laws of human relationships, seventh year and seventh day Sabbaths, feasts to be kept “in the time appointed (Hebrew word mo ed (H4150) as found in Gen 1:14 and Lev 23:2 translated as seasons and feasts respectively). Other religions and cultures keep the same custom; but at different appointed times and to different gods.
Ex23:20 The “Angel” with capital “A” was to “keep” them “in the way”, the way of the narrated laws. Provoke him not for he will not pardon your transgressions. Similar to not grieving the holy spirit of the N.T. It is said the appearances of the angel of the Lord are in fact preincarnate appearances of Christ. Things are said of the angel of the Lord that go beyond an ordinary angel and applicable only to Christ. Here he has the power to forgive sins and he has the name of God (se Luke 7:49; Mark 2:7). No man could see God and live; but the son of God (Ex 33;20; Jhn 1:18; Col 2;9). Hagar called Him by the name of God (Gen 16:13). See also Ex 3:2-6.
Ex 25:9, 40 And look that thou make them after their pattern, which was shewed thee in the mount. Moses had prior been given and written down instructions for the people. The Laws and this pattern. i.e see Ex23. V8 was this physical sanctuary for people’s focus purposes as they were used to serving idols can see? V16, 21, 22 “testimony” see explanation to Ex34.
Ex29:1 .. “to hallow them, to minister unto me in the priest's office”. Sacrifices (killing animals v11) were not merely for forgiveness of sins; but here we read as a means of sanctification for service to the Lord. Exo 29:21 And thou shalt take of the blood that is upon the altar, and of the anointing oil, and sprinkle it upon Aaron, and upon his garments, and upon his sons, and upon the garments of his sons with him: and he shall be hallowed, and his garments, and his sons, and his sons' garments with him. V16, 18 was for a burnt offering. The chapter also mentions wave, peace, heave, burnt, drink as well as sin offerings. Ours is not to necessarily know or accept the reasons of God; but to obey. We are told they are “for a sweet savour” unto the Lord. Lev 1-4 also deals with types of offerings.
Ex 31 Note what God says about keeping His holy days (feast days) “…Verily my sabbaths ye shall keep: for it is a sign between me and you throughout your generations; that ye may know that I am the LORD that doth sanctify you”. “Sabbaths” being different to “the Sabbath” (7th day one) but includes it. See also Ex34
Ex 33:5-6 God’s view of body wearing “ornaments”. V13 Moses asked to be shown God’s way, that he “may find grace in thy sight”. V16 A sign that they have found grace with God is that He goes with them, unlike v2-3 where He said he would said His angel instead due to their stiffnecked manner. That they have been separated from all God’s other created people eon the earth. After Moses pleading, God agrees. V18 Moses asks to see God’s glory and God replies He will show His “goodness” which is His glory.
Ex 34:1 “..I will write upon these tables the words that were in the first tables, which thou brakest”. Note the insert word “these” should not be there. Ex 34 is similar to Ex 23. The books of Kings and Chronicles narrates how leaders did not follow the directive of Ex 34:13 “But ye shall destroy their altars, break their images, and cut down their groves:” Then and today these gentiles “.. one call thee, and thou eat of his sacrifice;” (verse 15) thinking it is Ok, many no longer see the harm or relevance. Ex 34:27 God instructed Moses to write ALL these words which included the named feasts (v23) then added “for after the tenor of these words I have made a covenant with thee and with Israel (remember Israel was God’s “son” as was Jesus and Christians today are graffed into this covenant as an adopted son.
Ex34:27 Some say (and use as a difference not to keep the feast days) that the Laws, of which feast days are a part, were written by Moses whereas the ten commandments were written by God. In continuance of v27 we read the word “he” as referring to Moses. It may be that the “he” who wrote on the tables are one and the same especially since it continues from the instruction given to Moses. Thereafter it would appear Moses did four things; stayed there 40 days and nights, did not eat bead, nor drink water and wrote on the tables. Remember punctuations etc were inserted by the translators nor the writer.
Exo 34:27 And the LORD said unto Moses, Write thou these words: for after the tenor of these words I have made a covenant with thee and with Israel. Exo 34:28 And he was there with the LORD forty days and forty nights; he did neither eat bread, nor drink water. And he wrote upon the tables the words of the covenant, the ten commandments”.
Ex 34:29 We are told these Tables on which Moses wrote (? See v34) the Law and contained also the listed feast formed the “testimony” (witness as translated by Strong’s Hebrew concordance). Remember it is we (man) who have given Ex 20:1-17 the slang title “ten commandments” and thus putting a division and limitation on God’s instructions. Ex20:22+ is a continuation of God speaking to and instructing His people through Moses. This continuation included what we (or via the deceiver’s theologians) have separated into other laws! Verse 32 “and he (Moses) gave them in commandment all that the LORD had spoken with him in mount Sinai”. It was the “all” that became the covenant, the testimony, the witness! And this “testimony” the “all” is what was put in the Ark Exo 25:16 And thou shalt put into the ark the testimony which I shall give thee. Exo 25:21 And thou shalt put the mercy seat above upon the ark; and in the ark thou shalt put the testimony that I shall give thee. Exo 25:22 … which are upon the ark of the testimony, of all things which I will give thee in commandment (note this commandment means instructions not what we call the ten) unto the children of Israel.
Now how we reconcile this with Exo 31:18 “ … two tables of testimony, tables of stone, written with the finger of God” God has yet to tell me. We commonly have the impression the tables were written on one side each. The first four on one and the other six on the other; but this is not the case. “Exo 32:15 And Moses turned, and went down from the mount, and the two tables of the testimony were in his hand: the tables were written on both their sides; on the one side and on the other were they written. Exo 32:16 And the tables were the work of God, and the writing was the writing of God, graven upon the tables”. Many of our believes are partly right; but also partly wrong. “Rev 15:2 …them that had gotten the victory over the beast, and over his image, and over his mark, and over the number of his name, stand on the sea of glass, having the harps of God. Rev 15:3 And they sing the song of Moses the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying, Great and marvellous are thy works, Lord God Almighty; just and true are thy ways, thou King of saints. I have spoken in other articles of Rev 12:17 (And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.) showing how the word “commandments” is everything God instructed His people via Moses not what we limited to the “ten”.
Finish these verses:
1) (Disobedience) rebellion is as the sin of …., and stubbornness is as….. Because thou hast rejected the word of the LORD, he hath also rejected thee (1Sam 15:23)
2) The wages of sin is… (Rom 6:23)
3) Is the law sin? God forbid. Nay, I had not known sin ….. law: (Rom 7:7)
4) For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth …. (Heb 10:26)
Conclusion; keep all of God’s law or you are being disobedient.
Exo 3:12 And he said, Certainly I will be with thee; and this shall be a token unto thee, that I have sent thee: When thou hast brought forth the people out of Egypt, ye shall serve God upon this mountain.
Exo 7:16 And thou shalt say unto him, The LORD God of the Hebrews hath sent me unto thee, saying, Let my people go, that they may serve me in the wilderness.. Exo 8:1 And the LORD spake unto Moses, Go unto Pharaoh, and say unto him, Thus saith the LORD, Let my people go, that they may serve me. Exo 8:25 And Pharaoh called for Moses and for Aaron, and said, Go ye, sacrifice to your God in the land.
Exo 8:26 And Moses said, It is not meet so to do; for we shall sacrifice the abomination of the Egyptians to the LORD our God:
Exo 8:23 And I will put a division between my people and thy people: to morrow shall this sign be. Possibly the same division that will be utilized when plagues of Revelations comes. Those who do not keep all commandments of God may not receive His seal or protection.
Exo 15:26 And said, If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the LORD thy God, and wilt do that which is right in his sight, and wilt give ear to his commandments, and keep all his statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am the LORD that healeth thee.
16:4 ..that I may prove them, whether they will walk in my law, or no.
Exo 16:28 And the LORD said unto Moses, How long refuse ye to keep my commandments and my laws? Note this came before meeting on Mount Sinai Ex 20.
Exo 18:20 And thou shalt teach them ordinances and laws, and shalt shew them the way wherein they must walk, and the work that they must do. Exo 19:4 Ye have seen what I did unto the Egyptians, and how I bare you on eagles' wings, and brought you unto myself.
Exo 19:5 Now therefore, if ye will obey my voice indeed, and keep my covenant, then ye shall be a peculiar treasure unto me above all people: for all the earth is mine:
Exo 23:22 But if thou shalt indeed obey his voice, and do all that I speak; then I will be an enemy unto thine enemies, and an adversary unto thine adversaries. Exo 24:12 And the LORD said unto Moses, Come up to me into the mount, and be there: and I will give thee tables of stone, and a law, and commandments which I have written; that thou mayest teach them. Remember God only has two groups obedience and disobedience, wheat or tares, His or deceivers, saved or not! Ex 31:13 my sabbaths ye shall keep: for it is a sign between me and you throughout your generations; that ye may know that I am the LORD that doth sanctify you. every one that defileth it shall surely be put to death. Exo 33:16 For wherein shall it be known here that I and thy people have found grace in thy sight? is it not in that thou goest with us? so shall we be separated, I and thy people, from all the people that are upon the face of the earth (ungodly, heathen, Gentiles) As once accept God and His ways you are nolonger ungodly, a heathen or Gentile.
In Ex 32:21-22 Moses asked Aaron Exo 32:21 , What did this people unto thee, that thou hast brought so great a sin upon them? He replied knowest the people, that they are set on mischief. Aaron the priest, the spiritual leader succumbed to the demands of the people. These same mischievous people are today’s leaders giving congregation what they want. False days and ways of worship, rather than what they should have.
3:15 The LORD God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, hath sent me unto you: this is my name for ever, and this is my memorial unto all generations. See also 34:14
