“The Straight Gate”

This presentation is an outline of God’s intended way of life for humans and assumes the reader has a fair knowledge of bible events. At the actual presentation a video of Egyptian temple sacrifice system was shown.   Luk 13:24  Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able.

A couple of weeks ago I visited a church and they were having a “Father’s Day” service in celebration of the time of year.  Churches seem to be celebrating the same pagan days as the world.  Mother’s, father’s, Valentine days and the usual Xmas etc.  They have put no difference between the holy and the profane.  Eze 22:26 Her priests have

violated my law, and have profaned mine holy things: they have put no difference between the holy and profane, neither have they shewed difference between the unclean and the clean, and have hid their eyes from my sabbaths, and I am profaned among them.

The speaker for that day recited how he caught a train intending to go west as the platform signs indicated.  The announcer said people had to change trains due to a change of schedule and platforms.  He remained seated in contemplation thinking the announcer must be wrong.  Just as he decided to get up and check the train doors closed and he was on his way east.  It reminded me of Christians sitting in their beliefs.  Refusing to get up and move.  Sadly, the sum of Luk  13:24 and others is, most will stay on the broad road to destruction.

A straight line is the shortest distance between any two points.  From that line one can plot the direction of any future point  of that line, i.e useful in forecasting.  In things of God the two points used to draw the directional line must be true, confirmed points as what we do must be in spirit and TRUTH.  A false point in plotting the directional line would lead one in the wrong direction, wrong conclusion and wrong forecasts.  The best points to use are those from or closest to the origin, of the confirmed past, true points.  Joh 3:21  But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.Joh 4:23  But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.Joh 8:32  And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.  1Jo 2:4  He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.

God is not a respector of persons nor author of confusion.  His ways are straight.  So if ones’ beliefs do not exactly fit His straight line, that indicates they are wrong.

I am going to depicted my view of the single narrow road to Yahweh God.  I think it is biblical; but as I always say, let us reason.  Let us through the Bible basically track Yahweh God’s instructions from creation.   I will be only highlighting main heading points of the road each of which have their own detailed study which I can email to you.

When God created the human race, they were not and not meant to be any other god’s. So no intention of a religion.  What He gave was a way of life, instructions of right living.  When humans created other god’s, they created religion.  Later called some Judaism, Christianity etc according to their differences.  All who keep or return to the way, the truth, the light are of Yahweh God and those who do not are of their own god(s).  Each religion, may adopt and or adapt elements of others, even of Yahweh’s; but that does not make them correct.  There is only one way.  Truth, whole truth and nothing but the truth.

  1. What do we learn from Genesis? A) Appointed times.  God created earth for man’s dominion and ruler ship.  In that created environment were appointed times of communion with God.  The Hebrew word translated “seasons” in Gen 1:14 is the same word translated appointed times, appointed seasons, feast in i.e. Gen 18:14, Ex 23:15, Lev 23:2, Num 9:2.  (See article on Feast Days).  It is a thought of mine that the “cool of day” time mentioned in Gen 3:8 when Adam and Eve heard God walking in the garden looking for them, may have been similar to the subsequent evening and morning sacrifice period or ninth hour of pray.  We also have Gen 24:63  And Isaac went out to meditate in the field at the eventide: and he lifted up his eyes, and saw, and, behold, the camels were coming.

Remember the day started with the evening followed by morning not from midnight.   There was also an intended way of life for them according to God’s commandments.  To these commandments we were to be obedient or be punished / separated from God.  Adam and Eve disobeyed.  I would say part of that creation was time settings.  Gen 1:14  And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years:   So we had years.  Obviously a beginning of the year and an end.  We read how Adam and others lived so many  years.   Gen 7:11  In the six hundredth year of Noah's life, in the second month, the seventeenth day of the month, the same day were all the fountains of the great deep broken up, ….  From this confirms a beginning point for each day, month and year.  Gen 8:13  And it came to pass in the six hundredth and first year, in the first month, the first day of the month, the waters were dried up from off the earth:   So we see there was an identified first day of God’s year.  Are these times relevant and important to God?  Apparently so as we read of God choosing these specific days for significant events in regards to His people  Exo 12:2  This month shall be unto you the beginning of months: it shall be the first month of the year to you.  Exo 40:17  And it came to pass in the first month in the second year, on the first day of the month, that the tabernacle was reared up.

What times do most keep for their new day? Mid night.  For their new year? Jan 1st.  For their annual celebrations? Not God’s.

  1. b) Sin existed and consequences known. Cain killed Abel knew punishment was death Gen 4:14 … it shall come to pass, that every one that findeth me shall slay me”.  It was murder and Cain knew the punishment was death at the hands of others.  His plea to God earned him grace.  Favour from God in sparing his life.

Ways of righteousness was known as Enoch achieved it.  God had an intended way Gen 6:12  And God looked upon the earth, and, behold, it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted his way upon the earth.  This way included at least some of the laws we later learn was given to Moses.  i.e clean and unclean animals of Lev 11.  Gen 7:2  Of every clean beast thou shalt take to thee by sevens, the male and his female: and of beasts that are not clean by two, the male and his female.

You know Noah and his family followed God and the rest sinned continually.  Sin being transgression of the Law as without Law there is no sin.  This alone should show there was God’s law and sin before given to Moses in Exodus.  Neither  Abraham or Isaac wanted their sons to intermarry with a pagan.  An instruction we later read being given to the nation of Israel.  Other examples are the destruction of Sodom and Gomorah in Gen 19 for their violation of man lying with man as later found in  Lev 20:13; rape as the account of Dinah in Gen 34; adultery as in Ex 20:3 Abraham and Abimelech, Joseph and Potiphar’s wife. Raising of brothers seed through his widowed wife as in Gen 38 compared to Deu 25:5.  Last examples are Gen 18:19  For I know him, that he will command his children and his household after him, and they shall keep the way of the LORD, to do justice and judgment; that the LORD may bring upon Abraham that which he hath spoken of him. Gen 26:5  Because that Abraham obeyed my voice, and kept my charge, my commandments, my statutes, and my laws.  For other examples of the pre-existence of the law before Moses see the free book “Have I got it Right God”.

  1. c) Sacrifice and offerings to God. As early as Gen 4 both Cain and Abel brought of their first fruits.  Cain of the ground and Abel of his flock.  Both brothers knew of the first fruits offering requirement, later found in Lev.  Gen 8:20  And Noah builded an altar unto the LORD; and took of every clean beast, and of every clean fowl, and offered burnt offerings on the altar.  Despite Gen 7:2, how did he know what was clean and why offer only the clean offerings?  Gen 22:2  And he said, Take now thy son, thine only son Isaac, whom thou lovest, and get thee into the land of Moriah; and offer him there for a burnt offering upon one of the mountains which I will tell thee of. Gen 22:7  And Isaac spake unto Abraham his father, and said, My father:... Behold the fire and the wood: but where is the lamb for a burnt offering?  How did he know a lamb not a cow, dog or other was required?

  1. D) God’s grace or favour was exercised. I have mentioned Cain; but there was also Noah in Gen 6:8  But Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD. See also Gen 18:16-33

  1. E) Faith existed: Noah was asked to build an ark for an event he had never seen, rain.  Yet he obeyed  in faith without sight or proof.  Abraham was told his son Isaac would be the seed of his heir and multiply his family lineage, yet was about to bring Isaac’s life to an end when he was still a lad.  Also Gen 15:6.

  1. F) Alternative gods existed. See story of Laban who had idols as gods in Gen 31 and that are among you, and be clean, and change your garment.

This part of the Bible ends with Abraham’s  family, having a way of life of God different in some ways from the rest of the world.  Definitely having a different God.  They end up in Egypt due to the famine; but also God’s prophecy to Abraham, where they remain for 430 years until God calls one of Abraham’s descendants Moses, a Levite, to bring them out.  Did they keep God’s ways in Egypt or was it forced out of them?  Is not for this article; but to establish it was there before and after Egypt.  The bible is silent on those 430 years.  Why?  Maybe for avoidance of repetition and to keep the Bible to a manageable reading size.  What is important is God’s ways is about to be spelt out in defined, unambiguous  detail.  The points to keep in mind are:-

  1. i) They had and acted on the Laws of God. Which may not necessarily mean they had all the laws as were given to Moses.  Remember they were individuals or small family compared to subsequently growing into a nation of thousands of individuals.  These including sacrifices, clean and unclean animals, what constituted sin as murder and things evil (Gen 6:6).  They had faith that their obedience would please God and He would be a rewarder  of their faith.  No difference to Heb 11:6  But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

  1. ii) Here are some scriptures that teach us about these patriarchs. Gen 5:24  And Enoch walked with God: and he was not; for God took him. Gen 6:9  These are the generations of Noah: Noah was a just man and perfect in his generations, and Noah walked with God.  Gen 17:1  And when Abram was ninety years old and nine, the LORD appeared to Abram, and said unto him, I am the Almighty God; walk before me, and be thou perfect. Gen 18:19  For I know him, that he will command his children and his household after him, and they shall keep the way of the LORD, to do justice and judgment; that the LORD may bring upon Abraham that which he hath spoken of him.

Gen 26:5  Because that Abraham obeyed my voice, and kept my charge, my commandments, my statutes, and my laws.  WE GET AN IDEA OF WHAT IT MEANS TO WALK WITH GOD FROM 2Ki 20:3  I beseech thee, O LORD, remember now how I have walked before thee in truth and with a perfect heart, and have done that which is good in thy sight. And Hezekiah wept sore. Psa 16:8  I have set the LORD always before me: because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved. Heb 11:5  By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God.

Those samples should be our clear example.  Remember God is not a respecter of persons.   We shall now see it is the same obedience and way of life God requested of His first born nation Israel.

2)   What do we learn from Exodus to Malachi.

Here we learn how this family of Abraham developed into a Nation called Israel after their father; but their other not common name was the Hebrews (Ex 3:18).  Being raised as Pharaoh’s daughter’s son in an Egyptian palace it appears Moses knew of his ancestors names, Abraham,  Isaac, Jacob; but not God’s name. Ex 3:6.  By v13 Moses ask God His name to be able to tell this to the people.  Some think God’s answer in v14 is the name “I am that I AM”; but it is not. It is what He is not His name.  v 15 reads Exo 3:15  And God said moreover unto Moses, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, YAHWEH God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, hath sent me unto you: this is my name for ever, and this is my memorial unto all generations.  Most bibles today have continued the tradition of replacing Yahweh with “the Lord”.   Everywhere in the first Testament where one sees the Lord was originally YHWH or Yahweh.

God took His newly formed separated people to be a peculiar separated sanctified group.  Peculiar because they would not do the things of or live the way of the rest of the world.  If they stayed among the heathen Egyptians they would remain in that mentality and lifestyle.  It was new beginnings,  new way of life and new promised land.

First:  Know who is delivering you and my name.  We are told humans knew God’s name before this [Gen 4:25 Then began men to call on name of Yahweh] they may either have forgotten it or not been permitted to remember it while in Egypt.  Remember male children as Moses were supposed to all be killed to kill off the race and leave women to be married into Egyptian culture.  God took Moses, trained him and sent him to bring the rest out.  Ex 3:14-15.  Wherever we see the word Lord representing God in the Bible, it has been changed from His actual name YHWH or Yahweh.  This is about 7,000 times and first appears in Gen Gen 2:4  These are the generations of the heavens and of the earth when they were created, in the day that Yahweh God made the earth and the heavens.

  1. A) God’s name: One of the first things we learn is God’s name and his association with those who obeyed Him and who is the father of all God’s people [obedient Jew or Gentile], that being Abraham- Jacob (Israel).  Though the bible uses the name Yahweh (the Lord) from Gen 2:4, we are told in Gen 17:1 and Ex 6:2 He was known as God almighty.  Maybe to distinguish Himself from the numerous other imaginary gods of the people of the time.  However, Gen 6:2 now identifies His name.  532 times the phrase “Lord god” appears in the bible meaning Yahweh God to name and identify Him from any other that some call or nominate as a god.  He puts particular emphasis on the calling of His name with words as “call on my name, in my name, by my name”.  Lord, god, redeemer and all the other attributes people think are names are not.  They are part of His attributes which are innumerable.  There is a reason why the deceiver and his angels has changed God’s name in the bible.  (see article Yahshua or Jesus).

  1. B) We learn this descendant group or enlarged family is Yahweh’s first born son (Ex 4:22) and how He saves His son from the affliction of slavery giving them riches in the process. This group, called assembly or Church in Acts 7:38 consisted of all persons who wanted to have Yahweh as their God.  A mixed multitude left Egypt with Moses and Yahweh’s ways, as passed down through Moses, was also for any “stranger” or Gentile that wanted to be part of the assembly.  See articles Stranger and Who is a Gentile.  The very important relevance of this point is that Yahweh’s instructions were not exclusively for the Jews as the Protestant and Christian denominations teach.

  1. C) Appointed Times. We learn His appointed times are given to them starting with the day of each new year  “Exo 12:2  This month shall be unto you the beginning of months: it shall be the first month of the year to you.”   Followed by the days of His appointed holy convocation times; the first being Passover. A comprehensive list can be found in Lev 23.

  1. D) God’s way existed before and after Mount Sinai: We learn of the existence of some of God’s ways even before given to Moses on Mount Sinai.   Scriptural examples being Ex 15:26; 16:4, 23,26, 28; 18:16, 20 (Exo 16:23  And he said unto them, This is that which the LORD hath said, Tomorrow is the rest of the holy sabbath unto the LORD…; v28 Exo 16:28  And the LORD said unto Moses, How long refuse ye to keep my commandments and my laws? Exo 16:29  See, for that the LORD hath given you the sabbath, therefore he giveth you on the sixth day the bread of two days; abide ye every man in his place, let no man go out of his place on the seventh day.   Exo 18:16  When they have a matter, they come unto me; and I judge between one and another, and I do make them know the statutes of God, and his laws. Exo 18:20  And thou shalt teach them ordinances and laws, and shalt shew them the way wherein they must walk, and the work that they must do.

We should all know of the Torah (instructions, Law) being given from Exodus 20; but many think of them in terms of ten.  The ten commandments.  However, if one reads verses 18-21 and took them out, it should be seen the list of instructions (laws) would have included the whole list were it not for the narrator breaking off to recite the fear of the people.

  1. E) Sacrifices existed before and after Mount Sinai: Ex 17:15 and 18:12 for before and Leviticus etc for after.  There are many purposes for sacrifices and people seem to either forget or not know this.  There are many kinds of animal sacrificing offerings not to do with forgiveness of sins but a sweet smelling savor to our Lord.  Burnt offerings Lev 1:9, meat offerings Lev 2:1; peace offerings Lev 3:1, trespass and heave offerings.  Sin offerings are in Lev 4.  It should be obvious from reading about these offerings which included the killing of an animal, that they differ significantly to that of Lev 16 which deals with the annual Day of Atonement.  This is the sacrifice that Jesus replaced.  Read diligently at your leisure.  The sacrifices of the Day of atonement was for the annual forgiveness of sins of the nation of God’s people.  The priests had their part to do; but the people also had a part to do.

  1. F) Grace, God’s favour also existed before the N.T Some other examples are found in Exo 33:12, 17 and Exo 34:9. Christians are taught grace is unmerited favour and thus is available unconditionally to all through Jesus.  I say one and God  gives favour to their chosen not indiscriminately to all.  Psa 84:11  For the LORD God is a sun and shield: the LORD will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly.

  1. G) Faith also existed before N.T. We all know of the journey to the Red sea without any forethought how they would cross it.  For a longer list read Heb 11.  Of which Heb 11:32-35 reads “ And what shall I more say? for the time would fail me to tell of Gedeon, and of Barak, and of Samson, and of Jephthae; of David also, and Samuel, and of the prophets: Heb 11:33  Who through faith subdued kingdoms, wrought righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions, Heb 11:34  Quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong, waxed valiant in fight, turned to flight the armies of the aliens. Heb 11:35  Women received their dead raised to life again: and others were tortured, not accepting deliverance; that they might obtain a better resurrection:”   There is also the incident of the brazen serpent in Numbers 21:9 whereby people were healed by faith in Yahweh’s commandment.

  1. H) I hope we all know and agree there were alternative so called gods. Their name prefixed with the word “Baal” which means lord.  It could be Baalpeor, or other.  These were the gods of other nations, the heathen and consisted of the sun, moon and host of heaven.  An example Deu 4:19  And lest thou lift up thine eyes unto heaven, and when thou seest the sun, and the moon, and the stars, even all the host of heaven, should be driven to worship them, and serve them, which the LORD thy God hath divided unto all nations under the whole heaven.

In summary Exodus inclusive to Malachi narrates the calling of God’s people to be obedient to Him.  Believe and have faith in Him and live by His Torah (instructions of right living).  How they wanted to be like the other heathen nations.  Led by kings rather than Yahweh, adopted gods of gold and material made by mans’ hands etc.  How Yahweh constantly sent prophets to call them back to His blessings.  I hope you all know the story so I will not spend further time on it.

Instead I wish to briefly show as incorrect some of the things Christians use as a separation and justification not to follow the commandments of the first testament commonly called the Old.  They claim the blessings and good bits without wanting to live by the obligation.  They ignore the blessings etc are conditional on an “if” one lives right by God, He will “then” be with them.   That as they claim, they were given to the Jews, yet they still claim the good bits of the Jews promise.

Baptism and Yahoshua’s living water: 1Co 10:1  Moreover, brethren, I would not that ye should be ignorant, how that all our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea; 1Co 10:2  And were all baptized unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea; 1Co 10:3  And did all eat the same spiritual meat; 1Co 10:4  And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ.

Holy Spirit called spirit of God in First Testament.  For the sake of saving time in this time constraint presentation, please see the book “Have I got It Right God” under the topic “Not under the Law but under the Holy spirit”.  The point I wish to make here, is that headings or dots of the straight line established before Moses continues into the period from Moses to the Gospel.  Those dots are, Calling on the identified God, this time by name; keeping His appointed convocation times, knowing and obeying His way of life (Torah / Law), repentance and sacrifice for sins; grace, faith and staying far away from so called alternative gods.  That this way of life inclusive of keeping these correct appointed times would be instituted in the post second coming of Yahoshua period.  The period we all hope to be in. Prophets as Isaiah, and Zec speak of this.  i.e. Isa 66:23 “And it shall come to pass, that from one new moon to another, and from one Sabbath to another, shall all flesh come to worship before me, saith the LORD. See also Zec 8:22 Yea, many people and strong nations shall come to seek the LORD of hosts in Jerusalem, and to pray before the LORD. Zec 8:23  Thus saith the LORD of hosts; In those days it shall come to pass, that ten men shall take hold out of all languages of the nations, even shall take hold of the skirt of him that is a Jew, saying, We will go with you: for we have heard that God is with you.  See also Zec 14:16-19 and the Feast Day section of the Book” Have I got it right God”.

3)            Second Testament commonly called New.  What do we learn from this section:

That the promised Messiah came.  That from His youth to His death He kept the law or ways of God as given to Moses.  He did not change nor purport to change any.  Mat 5:17 says he came to establish the law and until heaven and earth have passed not one smallest part of the law shall diminish.

And what about who most call Jesus, the promised Messiah.  Did He come into existence in the New Testament so that Christians can use Him as an excuse not to follow what came before?  Well, half of Christians would say He is one and same with God and that the earthly Jesus was a human manifestation of God.  The other half, though may think He is a different entity to Yahweh, would agree He existed from the foundation of the world.

Joh 1:1  In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. Joh 1:2  The same was in the beginning with God. Joh 1:3  All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. Joh 1:4  In him was life; and the life was the light of men. Joh 1:5  And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not. Joh 1:10  He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not. Joh 1:11  He came unto his own, and his own received him not. Joh 1:12  But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: Joh 1:13  Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. Joh 1:14  And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.  Furthermore, we are told this Messiah was in the part of the bible commonly called Old Testament.

We should all know and accept the Law and prophets spoke of Him.  We may know of at least some of the 100+ prophecies that spoke of Him and of the ones stating He was the rock from which the assembly with Moses drank in the wilderness, the same that baptised them there and some pre-incarnated appearances of Him.

Three things, grace, faith, believe in Jesus are commonly used as a distinction between what Christians are obliged to do in the Old Testament and the New. We have seen these three categories existed in the Old Testament in addition to the Law.  There are also clear scriptures in the New Testament that state these three things do not affect obedience to God’s Law of the Old Testament.  Rom 3:31  Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law.  Rom 6:1  What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? Rom 6:2  God forbid.  Rom 6:15  What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid.  Rom 7:7  What shall we say then? Is the law sin? God forbid. Rom 7:12  Wherefore the law is holy, and the commandment holy, and just, and good. Rom 7:13  Was then that which is good made death unto me? God forbid. Gal 2:17  But if, while we seek to be justified by Christ, we ourselves also are found sinners, is therefore Christ the minister of sin (transgression of the law)? God forbid. Gal 3:21  Is the law then against the promises of God? God forbid:

Another excuse is that the Old Testament was for the Jews not Gentiles and Christians have replaced the Jews as God’s people.  These false beliefs are easily disproved in the study of who is a stranger and Gentile article.  Such individuals joined themselves to God’s people as they did in Esther 9:27.   Paul also said Rom 11:1  I say then, Hath God cast away his people (Israel, the Jews) ? God forbid. For I also am an Israelite, of the seed of Abraham, of the tribe of Benjamin.

Lastly, some would say the Law did not exist before Moses (above proves this to be wrong) or that God changed it and cite intermarriage between siblings, as with Abraham and half sister Sarah which is contrary to Lev 18:9, 11; 20:17.  As said in F(i) above, Gods instructions for righteous living (Torah / Law) may be different for a small family in a certain period of time and circumstances than for a multi thousand nation.  Though we cannot completely understand God (Isa 55:8) a starting point is to bear in mind should be He is infallible and whatever He says when He says it becomes His instructions (Torah / Law).   We should note how He detest worship of or his people having other gods.  Indeed the first three commandments of Exodus 20 are about such.  Furthermore,  if one knows their scriptures, they should remember His instructions about staying far away from worshippers of other gods as association with them would be a snare, drawing you away from Him.  It happened with Balaam, Solomon, Ahab etc and the second Testament also warns of being un equally yoked.

So bearing that in mind how would one reconcile Lev 18:16; Deu 25:5-6; Gen 38:10, Ruth 4:1-8?  Deu 25:5, other scriptures and examples of the patriarchs show God does not wish His people to intermarry with “strangers” (unholy, Gentiles, other nations) not living by His Torah for the mentioned reason.  He would prefer marriages between His followers than to risk them being snared and breaking the first three commandments.  In the “family” period of Israel’s history it was the only way to ensure the purity of believers.  However, by the multi thousand nation period, there was sufficient numbers of prospective partners from which to choose.  The principle continued as with not allowing one’s land inheritance to pass from one tribe to another.  We see this in Lev 25:1-55, Num 36:6-7, the account of Ruth 4:1-8 and 1King 21:3.  There were occasions when the people married women from other lands, i.e. Joseph in Egypt; but maybe they adopted the faith and God of Joseph as Ruth did with Naomi.  Intermarriage is not the main topic of this presentation; but let us remember, we do want God wants not necessarily follow errors of those in the past.  Thus from the above, the apparent contradiction is reconciled and god’s instructions or mindset is seen to be uniformed throughout.  The same yesterday, today and forever!

So seeing the common used divisions are not biblical, let us return to identifying points on the straight road.

New Millennium / Future Heaven and Earth.

As I said above, we are told in Isaiah and Zec, that the seventh day Sabbath  the past and  present appointed days will be kept.  Maybe not all as the Passover or day of Atonement.  There may be no more disobedient persons, hence no sins and need for atonement.  I have not really looked into this.  But I am sure what is to be kept would likewise be told to those fortunate to get in.

Christianity and Others today.

So that is how it was in the three time periods of the bible and going to be in the fourth time period of the new heaven and earth.  A straight line leading to a narrow gate.  However, what have we today?  There are three known major religions that claim to belief in the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.  Called Judaism,  Christianity and Islam and came about in that order.   Judaism is subdivided into two.  Believing Jews in Yahoshua as the Messiah and non-believing.  Or commonly called Orthodox and Messianic.    The latter, as the apostles and early church as say of Acts 2, were supposed to and did initially teach the non believing ones.  Also as with Philip and the Enoch in Acts 8 and other places.   Pastors and Christians commonly refer to the Jews in reference to the unbelieving Orthodox ones.  They hide the believing Messianic ones to support their claim of a difference between Christians and Jews.  Because the pagans in Antioch named these Messianics “Christians” it is today thought they were what they were called.  Even a totally separate group.  But this is not the case. One is not necessarily what they are called.  In deed the disciples never referred to themselves as Christians; but Jews, of the sect from Nazareth or followers of the way.  See 2Co 11:22 and Act 6:1 “And in those days, when the number of the disciples was multiplied, there arose a murmuring of the Grecians against the Hebrews....“  Language spoken was a simple identification  of a group, nation, country men [See Gen 10:20, after their tongues;  Isa 66:18  nations and tongues; Rev 7:9; 10:11; 11:9; 13:7; 17:15].

As Spanish to those of Spain.  Before the blending of today’s society, came way of life of that group as afternoon siestas, types of food etc.  With the Hebrews is was their Yahweh God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.  So one should get this idea and Identification  of Christians out their head.  Christian comes from Christos, meaning anointed one.  Of which there are many making this claim.   Mar 13:22  For false Christs and false prophets shall rise, and shall shew signs and wonders, to seduce, if it were possible, even the elect.  Mat 24:5  For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.  Even the devil and his angels 2Co 11:13  For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ  (claimed anointed).  One way of having you call him as the anointed is the substitution of the real anointed name to a common word as “Lord”, which in one sense is what one calls the false gods.  1Co 8:5  For though there be that are called gods, whether in heaven or in earth, (as there be gods many, and lords many,).  For an expansion of this point see Satan’s Parallel Christian system in the book Have I Got It Right God.  We are called to believe in the Messiah or as the believing Jews refer to Him in Hebrew “Yahoshua Ha Messiac” translated as “Yahoshua the Messiah”.  Unfortunately many of todays’ Messianics  get their belief in a Messiah from the Christians preaching Jesus rather than THE real messiah from their own scriptures as taught for example by Philip to the Enoch.  Through the Hebrews, many came to believe in their God i.e.  Jonah 1:6, Dan 6:26, 2King 5:17; the Strangers of Rome and proselytes of Acts 2:10

The pagans had their own supposedly anointed religious figures way back from Egyptian and Babylonian times.  They simply assumed the disciples were them just as they mistook Paul and Barnabas for holy men of their pagan beliefs.  Act 14:12-18  And they called Barnabas, Jupiter; and Paul, Mercurius, because he was the chief speaker.  Act 14:13  Then the priest of Jupiter, which was before their city, brought oxen and garlands unto the gates, and would have done sacrifice with the people.   Act 14:14  Which when the apostles, Barnabas and Paul, heard of, they rent their clothes, and ran in among the people, crying out, Act 14:15  And saying, Sirs, why do ye these things? We also are men of like passions with you, and preach unto you that ye should turn from these vanities unto the living God, which made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and all things that are therein:   Act 14:18  And with these sayings scarce restrained they the people, that they had not done sacrifice unto them.   In short,  and as shocking and dis- believable as it may seem, these pagan sun and host of heaven worshippers / believers, became the Church of Rome, from which todays Christians are rooted.  Again see the mentioned book and other articles.  One needs to study  Church history from about A.D. 60 – 400 Not merely say post 200 A.D. when the corruption was almost complete.

Islam came about in approximately 600 A.D.   Is rooted in moon god worship hence the crescent moon seen on their mosques.  It is not as they are taught or portrait of the god of Abraham nor were Adam and Eve Muslims.

1st Detraction:  God’s name Yahweh.  His son’s name Yahoshua:  None of the religions use them.  The Jews think God’s is too holy to be spoken. A tradition imposed on them when in captivity and their captures did not want the name of this powerful God spoken or remembered.   God and the scriptures makes a point about calling His name Joe 2:32  And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the LORD shall be delivered:  Exo 23:13  And in all things that I have said unto you be circumspect: and make no mention of the name of other gods, neither let it be heard out of thy mouth.  Act 4:12  Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.  It is obvious, the Messiah, a Jew did not have a Greek name Jesus.  Yet most succumb to the deceivers deceit that it is a name of the Messiah and that a purported translation does not matter etc.  If only they knew the origin of that name.  So I first suggest we too revert to reading His name Yahweh back into our bibles when we see “Lord” or pronouncing it in conversations about Him. You may have been taught it does not matter, its only a name, refers to Him anyway etc.  But all these are false teachings imposed on God’s people long ago.  He gave us His name for a purpose and it was taken away from us for a sinister reason.  See article Jesus or Yahshuah which deals with both names.

2nd Detraction: His holy days.  None of the religious keep them.   Not the weekly nor the annual ones.  Those few who claim to keep the correct weekly Sabbath (sixth day sunset to seventh or called Friday sunset to Saturday sunset) do not keep the annual ones.  The fewer that do, keep the wrong day of Pentecost.   Instead most keep pagan ones as Christmas knowing the Messiah was not born at that time.  Easter in honour of goddess Ishtar rather than the Passover, May day, mother’s day and a list of other pagan ones.  All have succumb to one or more of the deceits that they have been changed, does not matter, we can choose our own days, memorial and festivals.  Hagai 2,   Isa 52:11, Ex 20:25 and  2Co 6:14  makes it clear, one cannot use an unholy thing for God.  Especially things of satan as his pagan memorial days.  God does not accept polluted things.   for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?2Co 6:17  Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you.

3rd Detraction:  Baptism.  Leviticus 14 and 15:13 are examples of the relevance of running water with things of God and that is how baptism took place.  We also read with the cleansing of Naaman the importance of the right water not the cleanest.  Mat 28:19  Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name (singular) of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: To me meaning they all have the same singular name hence it does not say “names of ….”.  Baptisms, instead of being in the singular name of the Father, son and holy spirit are done in the words “father, son etc” or Greek name Jesus.  So into what most are baptized, I fear to think.

4th Detraction:  Incorrect beliefs.  Correct knowledge and belief in the Father, Son and holy spirit not imposed or preferred ones are essential .  Job 42:7-8 makes a point that not only are we to do the right thinks; but also speak and belief the same about God.  Christians are putting more validity on Paul’s writings than the instructions of Yahweh.  Paul was merely trying to explain the Torah and may not have done it as best as if done by a lawyer carefully choosing his words.  Paul was a tent maker.  Presently we have numerous wrong beliefs among numerous denominations.  One of the most dangerous is that we are saved before enduring to the end.  This leads to not listening to others that you may not be, or your belief is questionable if not wrong.  Hence no effort to change ones actions or belief.   Another is that mere faith and a type of believe without works suffices.  All scripture is given.  We cannot only use a few pages.  Everything cannot be written on a few pages otherwise it would have been so and no need for rest.  We know about the love of God and what He can do for us; but how many follow for what they can do for Him?  We want the gifts and even claim them for ourselves without being given.  But how many are content to walk and live like John the Baptist, or even Yahoshua who was not materialistically rich or  forsake all as He said.

These erroneous beliefs will lead many to say “did we not do all these good works in your name and CAST OUT DEVILS?  The reply; No you were doing iniquity, i.e casting out devils but not in my name.  Scripture says in my name they will, meaning possible to do in other names otherwise wording would simply say they would cast out!  Because of Mar 3:26  “And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end” some cannot see through the devilish convincing deceits of the deceiver.   But there are many conditions on that scripture.  “If” satan rise against himself “and” be divided.  A superior in authority of the same goal can rise against his subordinate yet they be not divided.  Sergeant to corporal, 33 degree mason to a 2nd degree.  Even the good cop bad cop may appear to be at odds; but we know this is not so.    Remember  the account of Jehoshaphat and the king of Israel in 1 king 22:29 when they changed robes to try and deceive the enemy?  What about the story of Spartacus  where many his men stood up claiming to be him or with the capture of the princes in Star Wars.  We fight wickedness in high places by masters of deceit.  If we cannot understand things of this world how can we be sure about things of the  spiritual?

1Co 14:26  How is it then, brethren? when ye come together, every one of you hath a psalm, hath a doctrine, hath a tongue, hath a revelation, hath an interpretation. Let all things be done unto edifying. 2Pe 1:20  Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. Isa 28:10  For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little: 2Co 11:14  And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.  Even if an angel tell you a message or you receive a revelation apparently from god don’t believe unless is in line with other messages of bible.

Remember as said above.  Yahweh God gave humans a way of life not a religion.  They was not meant to be other god’s so no religion!!  I congratulate all of you who have learnt, accepted and are practicing this given way of life or some of them and are on the road to doing the same about the rest.  One by one giving up things not of Yahweh as clearly found in the Bible and taught by Moses, Law, prophets, Yahsua and his apostles.  You are or will become a set apart peculiar person to God and receive His promise which you have proven you accept and follow through your faith in his word shown by the works of your actions and life.   May Yahweh richly bless you and I don’t necessarily mean financially and call the rest of you into that blessing.

[TIME PERMITTING ADD THIS IS]

From where do we get pastors?  I know the English second Testament versions use the word.  At the beginning of the church in the wilderness, I see Priests as in Aaron  who administered offerings and sacrifices for sins.  Follow that through the line and we end up with Yahoshua the last High priest.  Some may say we are now priests as stated by Paul in Hebrews, just like in the days before Aaron where the father was the priest of the family.  Then there was Moses.  His position was replaced by Joshua, judges then kings.  Those kings reign ended when they were put into captivity.  The Bible also calls Yahoshua our king so that the two positions of priest and king are united in him.  His teachings or that of scripture was then spread by his called and specifically appointed disciples.  His instructions to them however, was not as was told me by another bible teacher to go and make disciples; but Mat 28:19  Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name (singular) of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: To me meaning they all have the same singular name hence it does not say “names of ….”.  But my intended point here was that the disciples became teachers not priest, or pastors.  Ofcourse I am aware of the one place in the second Testament the separation is made Eph 4:11  And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;  but I am curious from where this  separation actually came.  It was not a system practiced by the  original teaching Jewish apostles.   They taught and explained the only things they had, the Torah (Law) and arrival of the promised Messiah in Yahoshua.  The word pastor is only found in the First Testament in Jeremiah.  The word comes from “pasture” .  Like a person who got himself some sheep, breeds and tend to them, sometimes for their produce or profit to him.  This is different from a shepherd like David and Yahoshua.  What is their difference?  The shepherd lays down his life for one sheep.  Kills the attacking bear and does not lose one given to him.  The other, is in it for the reward and runs off in times of personal danger.  God does not speak good of pastors in Jeremiah.  He says they have transgressed against Him,  become brutish, and have not sought the LORD: destroyed His vineyard,  trodden His portion under foot,  made His pleasant portion a desolate wilderness. Woe be unto the pastors that destroy and scatter the sheep of my pasture! saith the LORD.  Driven them away.  Could this driven away be into several denominations each with their leader making merchandise of the people through the selling of books, conference tickets and tithe blessings to fund their expensive attire, way of life etc.  Hence the preaching of the same mentality in prosperity sermons.   Rather than the one folk, single church where pastors freely receive and freely give relying on God to provide for their NEEDS not wants.  I will leave that thought there which can be discussed later.  My point is be very careful from whom you get direction and to what teachings you subscribe.  We all have access to God’s word; but be careful not to read false traditional interpretations into it.
