Supplementary articles to accompany this one, "What did Yahshua come to accomplish" and "Acts 11-19",

Welcome all.  Those of you who have heard me speak before know I do not do sermons.  I impart information.  Information aimed at logical thinkers where the action that is required of them presents itself from the knowledge they have received.  Hosea says people perish or die from lack of knowledge, meaning due to ignorance.  The truth should set you free as the information you receive should make it obvious what your actions need to be.   Error is never harmless as salvation is based on the truth of God not error of belief.  Isa 26:2  Open ye the gates, that the righteous nation which keepeth the truth may enter in. 2Ti 2:15  Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

I am not subtle as that is for the devil.  The master of it out to deceive (Gen 3:1). Neither do I use honey or sugar. I prefer Pro 27:6  Faithful are the wounds of a friend; but the kisses of an enemy are deceitful. It is not about our feelings but Yahweh’s.  I bring medicine from the written Word of Yahweh God.  Hopefully not sprinkled with any of my biases or opinions.  On that score you can be the judge providing one does not call a fact an opinion in order to excuse the act they should really need to do or changes they need to make.

Today I am presenting a self-examination of our faith and practice to see whether they are pleasing to Yahweh God or ourselves.  1Jo 3:22  And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight.   I ask you to bear in mind not to use your own or eyes of men in understanding God; but to try and see things as He would.  From His eyes.  Comparing spiritual things with spiritual not of man as mentioned in 1Cor 2:13 so that the bible interprets itself.  Act 5:29  Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men.  John 7:17 teaches to understand God’s will, one must be willing to do all He asks not only the bits you like, are comfortable or not too hard.   “If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself.”

Let us start almost from the beginning and, using the Bible or TORAH from where it came, see how we got from then to now.  From Jews to Christians.  I hope to show you that Yahweh, the God of the Bible and TORAH, Jew and believing Gentiles, is the same yesterday, today and forever.  Has one straight line to Him.  Eph 4:5  One Lord, one faith, one baptism.  Act 10:34  Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons:   That his requirements of us was not one way at 1 minute to three O’ clock just before His son Yahshua died and then changed within a few seconds at the tearing of the veil that separated the holy from the most holy place. We shall see what was changed as we compare the book of Hebrews with Leviticus 16 which deals with the forgiveness of sins and the Day of Atonement.  John 1:29 The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.  Rom 10:3  For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God. Rom 10:4  For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth.  Being one’s self righteousness.

A summary of events before Moses: God created the universe with set appointed times to commune with us.  In Gen 1:14 it is translated as “seasons” later as feasts in Lev 23:2 and appointed times in Num 9:2 and others.  Note the similarity “cool of day” time God came to seek Adam and Eve in the garden (Gen 3:8), the eventide time Isaac went to meditate in the field (Gen 24:63), Daniel’s times of prayer in Dan 6:10, Psalm 55:17 and of Acts 2 and the evening and morning continuous sacrifice times given via Moses.  Also the blessing of the seventh day at creation in Gen 2:3 to which God later drew attention numerous times and punished those who brook it.  Indeed the N.T. refers to the same scripture in Heb 4:4  For he spake in a certain place of the seventh day on this wise, And God did rest the seventh day from all his works. Heb 4:5  And in this place again, If they shall enter into my rest.

Heb 4:6  Seeing therefore it remaineth that some must enter therein, and they to whom it was first preached entered not in because of unbelief:  Note it says 1st preached not 1st given!  V9-12  There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God. Heb 4:10  For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his. Heb 4:11  Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief. Heb 4:12  For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.  Your obedience and adherence to this and other set apart holy appointed days of God discerns the intent of your heart which God reads.  So from creation to present we had and have God’s set apart times.  Everyday, all times were not the same. Some are common and some are special to God.

Now onto God’s ways.  Instructions, sin, law whatever you wish to call it.  1Ti 2:14  And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression.   Whether one disobeys God knowingly or by deception He still punishes.  We have ample examples.

Gen 6:5  And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. 1Ki 13:26  And when the prophet that brought him back from the way heard thereof, he said, It is the man of God, who was disobedient unto the word of the LORD: therefore the LORD hath delivered him unto the lion, which hath torn him, and slain him, according to the word of the LORD, which he spake unto him. 1Sa 15:13  And Samuel came to Saul: and Saul said unto him, Blessed be thou of the LORD: I have performed the commandment of the LORD.  1Sa 15:14  And Samuel said, What meaneth then this bleating of the sheep in mine ears, and the lowing of the oxen which I hear? 1Sa 15:15  And Saul said, They have brought them from the Amalekites: for the people spared the best of the sheep and of the oxen, to sacrifice unto the LORD thy God; and the rest we have utterly destroyed. 1Sa 15:19  Wherefore then didst thou not obey the voice of the LORD, but didst fly upon the spoil, and didst evil in the sight of the LORD? 1Sa 15:20  And Saul said unto Samuel, Yea, I have obeyed the voice of the LORD, and have gone the way which the LORD sent me, and have brought Agag the king of Amalek, and have utterly destroyed the Amalekites. 1Sa 15:21  But the people took of the spoil, sheep and oxen, the chief of the things which should have been utterly destroyed, to sacrifice unto the LORD thy God in Gilgal. 1Sa 15:22  And Samuel said, Hath the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams. 1Sa 15:23  For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because thou hast rejected the word of the LORD, he hath also rejected thee from being king.

I went to a bible study a few weeks ago and the presenter mentioned how some Jamaican athletes had been banned from competitions for taking banned substances.  The athletes blamed a sponsor who gave them products to drink.  The drug testing agency told them they have the ultimate responsibility to check what goes into their body as it is on them the repercussion comes not their trainer, dietician or others.

Luk 12:47  And that servant, which knew his lord's will, and prepared not himself, neither did according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes. Luk 12:48  But he that knew not, and did commit things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few.   Both are beaten regardless.  Phi 2:12  … work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.

Hos 4:6  My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee,

Lack of knowledge, ignorance, is no excuse.  Neither is blaming those calling themselves prophets, pastors etc on whom you relied.  God has clearly said what his instructions are.  They are a schoolmaster to those babes who need such teachings; but your aim should be to move onto hard food.  Heb 6:1  Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God, Heb 6:2  Of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment.  1Jo 3:9  Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God. 1Jo 3:10  In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother.

The obedient are rewarded and receive grace. Gen 6:8  But Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORDGen 26:5  Because that Abraham obeyed my voice, and kept my charge, my commandments, my statutes, and my laws. We read obedient Noah and Abraham; both of whom kept the same instructions of God as were given through Moses.  These are two of the most renowned persons of the bible from whom God’s subsequent people are blessed.  We know there was alternative pagan gods worshipped by others.  Gen 31:19  And Laban went to shear his sheep: and Rachel had stolen the images that were her father's. Gen 31:32  With whomsoever thou findest thy gods, let him not live: before our brethren discern thou what is thine with me, and take it to thee. For Jacob knew not that Rachel had stolen them.  There was also a separation between God’s people and system and pagans to which both sides adhered.  Gen 43:32  And they set on for him by himself, and for them by themselves, and for the Egyptians, which did eat with him, by themselves: because the Egyptians might not eat bread with the Hebrews; for that is an abomination unto the Egyptians. Gen 46:33  And it shall come to pass, when Pharaoh shall call you, and shall say, What is your occupation? Gen 46:34  That ye shall say, Thy servants' trade hath been about cattle from our youth even until now, both we, and also our fathers: that ye may dwell in the land of Goshen; for every shepherd is an abomination unto the Egyptians.  Not only were the two groups separated physically where possible; but also by name.  God changed the pagan names of those He used and like in the book of Daniel, the pagans did likewise.

Sacrifice:  Gen 4:3  And in process of time it came to pass, that Cain brought of the fruit of the ground an offering unto the LORD. Gen 4:4  And Abel, he also brought of the firstlings of his flock and of the fat thereof. And the LORD had respect unto Abel and to his offering:  Gen 8:20  And Noah builded an altar unto the LORD; and took of every clean beast, and of every clean fowl, and offered burnt offerings on the altar. Gen 31:54  Then Jacob offered sacrifice upon the mount, and called his brethren to eat bread: and they did eat bread, and tarried all night in the mount. Note these sacrifices were not for sin offering.  In fact later in Lev chapters 1-7 we read of a variety of non sin offering reasons for sacrifices.

These were all before there was a temple, priestly established priestly system etc.  A similar system to what followed in the days of Nehemiah when they were not in Jerusalem nor had a Temple.  A set of instructions to follow established by God not man, deceiver or adversary.  Sacrifices to God not man, deceiver or adversary.  God was displeased and punished those not adhering to His way.  The punishment being the withdrawal of Himself from them in the hope they would recognise the absence of His presence, displeasure with them and return to Him.

I am not going to spend any time on the Moses to coming of the Messiah time as to what God required of His people.  I hope we all agree it is very clear in the scriptures from the instructions He gave through Moses, subsequent prophets, kings etc.  We all also ought to know how they came to be in Egypt through a promise to Abraham in Gen 15:13  And he said unto Abram, Know of a surety that thy seed shall be a stranger in a land that is not theirs, and shall serve them; and they shall afflict them four hundred years;   which was fulfilled later through Isaac and Joseph when the family grew to a nation and were in Egypt for 430 years.  Where I will pick up the history is from Exodus 12.  About here we can clearly identity the two spiritual powers and religious systems.  Yahweh God's via Moses and His adversary satn, represented by Egypt.  A nation that had numerous gods.  Of the sun, moon, river, life and death etc.  It was against some of these specific gods that Yahweh proved they were not god’s since they could do nothing to stop the plagues He brought.  We read scriptures as Exo 5:2  And Pharaoh said, Who is the LORD, that I should obey his voice to let Israel go? I know not the LORD, neither will I let Israel go.   Exo 8:19  Then the magicians said unto Pharaoh, This is the finger of God: and Pharaoh's heart was hardened, and he hearkened not unto them; as the LORD had said. Exo 12:32  Also take your flocks and your herds, as ye have said, and be gone; and bless me also.

God took a set of people, descendants of obedient faithful Abraham, to be set apart for himself with a system and instructions of life different from other nations in the sense it came from him.  They were different in most ways.  From the times they kept to the treatment of others living among them as one of their own.  Exo 12:2  This month shall be unto you the beginning of months: it shall be the first month of the year to you. Exo 12:3  Speak ye unto all the congregation of Israel, saying, In the tenth day of this month they shall take to them every man a lamb, according to the house of their fathers, a lamb for an house:   The title of this presentation is God’s, your and other churches.  Here I wish to draw your attention to “Congregation of Israel”.  This congregation is what today is referred to as a church.  We shall trace this church of Yahweh to see if those of today are of the same church or man made.  Of Yahweh God or the deceivers.  According to Strong’s concordance “Israel” means “he will rule as God”. Could it be that the purpose of God changing Jacob’s name was to make him ruler of the earth as God’s representative having his oracles.  Similar to what God said to Moses in Ex 4:16 with reference to Aaron “and thou shalt be to him instead of God”?  For a more detailed study on the bible’s origin of “church” see the article titled “The Church of the Bible”.

Exo 12:14  And this day shall be unto you for a memorial; and ye shall keep it a feast to the LORD throughout your generations; ye shall keep it a feast by an ordinance for ever.  Exo 12:15  Seven days shall ye eat unleavened bread; even the first day ye shall put away leaven out of your houses: for whosoever …  One of the first instructions to this church was to remember the day of their formation by remembering in action the keeping of the events that saved them.  Yeshua and the apostles kept it  “Mat 26:17  Now the first day of the feast of unleavened bread the disciples came to Jesus, saying unto him, Where wilt thou that we prepare for thee to eat the Passover? 1Co 5:8  Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness; …”   Who keeps it today?  That is one sign of the congregation and this is another Exo 31:13  Speak thou also unto the children of Israel, saying, Verily my sabbaths ye shall keep: for it is a sign between me and you throughout your generations; that ye may know that I am the LORD that doth sanctify you. Exo 31:14  Ye shall keep the sabbath therefore; for it is holy unto you: every one that defileth it shall surely be put to death: for whosoever doeth any work therein, that soul shall be cut off.

Three months after being miraculously taken out of Egypt by God, we read Exo 19:4  “Ye have seen what I did unto the Egyptians, and how I bare you on eagles' wings, and brought you unto myself. Exo 19:5  Now therefore, if ye will obey my voice indeed, and keep my covenant, then ye shall be a peculiar treasure unto me above all people: for all the earth is mine: Exo 19:6  And ye shall be unto me a kingdom of priests, and an holy nation”.  First God sets the parameters of His continued presence with them.  He shows them what He can do and ask whether they wish to enter into an agreement with Him.  Moses acts as intermediary  and they replied “All that the Lord hath spoken we will do”.  God tells them to get ready as in three days he will come and give them the details of the covenant.  When He does appear and start speaking in Exodus 20 they get afraid after the first ten instructions and ask Moses to hear the rest and come and tell them  (Ex 20:18-21).  Moses obliges, hearing the rest of these instructions until the end of Ex 23.  In Ex 24:3 Again the people reaffirmed “All the words which the Lord hath said we will do”.  Moses records the covenant in a book (24:4), the people sign and seal it as it were (24:8).  Later and numerous times we read repetitions of this instruction to this church. As early as  Ex 32:8 we read “They have turned aside quickly out of the way which I commanded them.  The people break the covenant and God punishes them briefly on occasions.  He also sends a multitude of prophets with messages to bring them back to keep the covenant they entered.  Fortunately for them God also established a repentance mechanism for their breach of the covenant with a sacrificial system.  This is recorded between Ex 24:12 to 31:18, then repeated in chapter 34 with the replacement tables of stone.  So before the tables of stone we have the people agreeing chapters 20 – 24:7 inclusive of keeping the seventh day Sabbath (20:8) and annual festivals 23:14-17.  Then we read “Exo 24:8  “And Moses took the blood, and sprinkled it on the people, and said, Behold the blood of the covenant, which the LORD hath made with you concerning all these words”. It is important you remember these two things.  Law and forgiveness if break it.  If no law, then no need for forgiveness.  They go together in the Old and New Testament.  No Law, no need for a messiah or saviour.  Who needs police force, legal system and judge if no crime or breaking of a law?  After sales service unless first buy into the service or a warranty for a product unless buy the product.  It is not rocket science so it amazes me Christians do not see the law and saviour go together.   As John said, you have to be prepared to do the will of God to understand His will!

So in simple terms, this congregation had a God, Yahweh, with whom they made a covenant to live a certain lifestyle and keep certain holy appointed times unto Him.  Violation through disobedience to that way was termed sin.  He however, established a repentance system just like a penalty clause in an agreement to repair the breach rather than discard the whole agreement.  That system being a blood offering for an individual’s sin and a daily and annual one for the sins of the whole nation (congregation / church).  I think we all agree that was the system from the forming of Israel as a large congregation, nation, rather than a small family.  That congregation was also made up of non birth right members called strangers.  Exo 12:38  And a mixed multitude went up also with them; and flocks, and herds, even very much cattle. Exo 12:49  One law shall be to him that is homeborn, and unto the stranger that sojourneth among you. Num 15:29  Ye shall have one law for him that sinneth through ignorance, both for him that is born among the children of Israel, and for the stranger that sojourneth among them.   That invitation to partake of God’s covenant was always open to other nations  join in  Est 8:17  And in every province, and in every city, whithersoever the king's commandment and his decree came, the Jews had joy and gladness, a feast and a good day. And many of the people of the land became Jews; for the fear of the Jews fell upon them.

Yeshua’s teachings did not change any of God’s ways that He established, though people of today, like some of Yeshua’s time, may be confused what is of God and what is of denomination or tradition.  He made this clear in His very first sermon on the mount when speaking about the law Mat 5:17  Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. Mat 5:18  For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.   “All” includes future events as mentioned by some prophets and the book of Revelations.  Since there remains unfulfilled prophecies, heaven and earth remain, so does every minute part of the law.  Mar 7:9  And he said unto them, Full well ye reject the commandment of God, that ye may keep your own tradition.  A common practice even today among Christians.

For lack of time let us move unto the period after the Messiah’s death.  In another article titled “Acts 11 -19” it would be seen the believers of the New Testament bible referred to themselves as Jews, sect of the Nazarenes or followers of “the way” not Christian.  Ask yourself if they were first called Christians in Antioch (Acts 11:26) what were they called for the first 10 and ½ chapters and why would they change their name?  They did not!  Nor did they change their ways from being Jews, practicing the TORAH.  They simply were shown and accepted that the Messiah spoken of in their scriptures had come in Yeshua and He was not as previously taught by their leaders a warrior conquering king to set them free of the Romans by brutal forceThe emerging difference between the sects of the Jews was that a new group would emerge, those who believed Yeshua was the promised messiah and those who would not.  Remember the promise was to the Jews Deu 18:15  The LORD thy God will raise up unto thee a Prophet from the midst of thee, of thy brethren, like unto me; unto him ye shall hearken”.  Nathanael, Peter and apostles, Paul and later other Jews and Greeks (gentiles).   Joh 1:49  Nathanael answered and saith unto him, Rabbi, thou art the Son of God; thou art the King of Israel. Joh 6:69  And we believe and are sure that thou art that Christ, the Son of the living God. Act 9:20  And straightway he preached Christ in the synagogues, that he is the Son of God.   Nathanael, Peter and other disciples, Paul 3,000 in Acts 2, Act 4:4  Howbeit many of them which heard the word believed; and the number of the men was about five thousand. Act 17:4  And some of them believed, and consorted with Paul and Silas; and of the devout Greeks a great multitude, and of the chief women not a few. Act 28:24  And some believed the things which were spoken, and some believed not. In fact by about 90 A.D. so many Jews converted to this sect that the structure of the Orthodox sect were threatened.  The heads of the synagogues, where they continued to meet and worshipped, adopted a prayer for the congregation to recite cursing those who believed in the Messiah.  The converts would not recite the prayer and so were eventually forced out the synagogues.

Luke ends with chapter 24 Yahshua meeting two of his disciples on the road discussing his death.  He states in v25 , “ O fools, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken:” Luk 24:27  And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he expounded unto them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself.

Luk 24:44  “And he said unto them, These are the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me”.   Is there any part of the law, prophets or psalms stating a Messiah would come and do away with the instructions of Yahweh. NO!  Only that one would come to be light to the world, Jew and Gentile as we define them.  Luk 24:45  Then opened he their understanding, that they might understand the scriptures, Luk 24:46  And said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behoved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day: Luk 24:47  And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. Luk 24:48  And ye are witnesses of these things. Luk 24:49  And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high.

Then comes the witnessing in the rest of the bible (N.T.) first in Jerusalem on the day of Pentecost, hence the need to speak languages of all other visitors to the feast so that 3,000 believed and were baptised.  Not into Christianity; but real original messianic believing Jews.  Of which there are many false one’s today using the name and some Jewish flavours.

Act 7:37  This is that Moses, which said unto the children of Israel, A prophet shall the Lord your God raise up unto you of your brethren, like unto me; him shall ye hear. (Speaking of Yahoshua (called Jesus).   Act 7:38  This is he, that was in the church in the wilderness with the angel which spake to him in the mount Sina, and with our fathers: who received the lively oracles to give unto us:   It is the same church / called out congregation (assembly) started by His father Yahweh God with Moses.  Let us trace this called out to be holy people separate from the unholy of the rest of world.  Act 13:42  And when the Jews were gone out of the synagogue, the Gentiles besought that these words might be preached to them the next sabbath.

So that is the Church of Yahweh God.  Of  our bibles.  Now let us compare practices of Churches today and how they got their traditions.  I am going to have to be brief due time constraints.  If we look at the diagram on the board we shall see a linear representation of Yahweh’s congregation and those of the deceiver.  Yahweh’s comes through Noah, Abraham and Moses to the Messiah Yeshua at which point it divides into believers and non believers.  For simplicity I have called them Orthodox Jews and Messianic Jews.  Satn’s line comes through Egypt, the kingdoms of Daniel’s prophecies of Babylon, etc to Rome in the time of the Messiah.  We see examples of this anti God linage throughout the bible i.e.  2Ki 10:19  Now therefore call unto me all the prophets of Baal, all his servants, and all his priests; let none be wanting: for I have a great sacrifice to do to Baal; 2Ki 23:5  And he put down the idolatrous priests, whom the kings of Judah had ordained to burn incense in the high places in the cities of Judah, and in the places round about Jerusalem; them also that burned incense unto Baal, to the sun, and to the moon, and to the planets, and to all the host of heaven.  Act 14:13  Then the priest of Jupiter, which was before their city, brought oxen and garlands unto the gates, and would have done sacrifice with the people.   Act 19:35  And when the townclerk had appeased the people, he said, Ye men of Ephesus, what man is there that knoweth not how that the city of the Ephesians is a worshipper of the great goddess Diana, and of the image which fell down from Jupiter?

Numerous references to high places, groves of which we shall see the modern day equivalent in a street of obelisk outside the Vatican and individual ones scattered around the world.   Rome adopted the god’s its predecessor empires left behind; traceable back to those of Egypt.  Sun, moon and host of heaven as spoken of in Deu 4:19; 17:3 Acts 14:12.  We should all vaguely know about the persecution unto death of the believers.  Their use for sport in Rome’s coliseums  worse than that of Samson.

I have found when I start reciting historical facts I lose people and waste my time researching the same.  So here is a nutshell version and you are welcome to get the finer details from your own research.  When emperor Constantine first moved his capital from Rome to Constantinople in about 330 A.D. he left the Bishop of Rome in charge to avoid a vacuum of power.  That bishop was given military and other powers.  With the subsequent demise of the Roman empire the position of Bishop of Rome became very powerful.  Prior to that the state had taken over the governing of the apostles faith and followers.  It passed laws outlawing keeping of the weekly and annual Sabbaths.  Changed the keeping of Passover on the 14th day of Abib (biblical first month), to a fixed Sunday after the Passover, infant baptism replaced infant circumcision and generally punished anyone found to be keeping what they termed Jewish ways.  Though they are not Jewish; but Gods.  One particular law being  that on 7th March 321 A.D. the first Sunday law was passed. It read “Let all the judges and town people, and the occupation of all trades rest on the venerable day of the sun”.  In that same era the Roman Catholic church was established, the pagan priests made head of Christianity, a pope assumed the right to be God’s representative on earth and power to change laws, decree’s etc.  Many meetings were held where decisions to change or merge the religions of pagan Rome with that of the apostles.  These being called Council of Nicaea.  The end result is that until the reformation of about 1517 the Roman Catholic Church took on the title and authority of The Church.  So for about 1400 years they were the sole authoritative voice and religious authority from whom the reformers broke away.  Mainly for not accepting the Pope as the forgiver of sins.  However, they retained most of the other beliefs gained via that church.  Sunday worship, Easter etc.  The changes instituted by the Church of Rome can be summarised as:

1)   Anti Jewish laws and propaganda.  Stating that the early believers became Christians rather than that early believers of both Jew and Gentile nations became believers in the Yahshua as the Messiah.  Messianic Jews for lack of a better description.  2)  That this new Christian group had eventually adopted different practices than the believing Jews i.e. Sunday worship instead of the 7th Day Sabbath based on Jesus rising on the 1st day of the week (which they assumed to be Sunday; but biblical first day starts sunset our Saturday Genesis 1:5).  That the righteous living instructions, inclusive of annual holy days God gave the human race through Moses was only for Israel.  That Christians had adopted other ones as Christmas to celebrate Jesus’ birth, Easter named after the pagan god Ishtar of remembrance of his death and sacrifice rather than Passover.  Infant baptism to replace circumcision.  The very similar things Antiochus Epiphany did as in Daniel 8.  4)  Selecting ambiguous scriptures, all from the New Testament like Jesus healing on the Sabbath day as evidence He broke and changed it.  Or mostly by misunderstanding a few of Paul’s scriptures due to ignorance of the Jewish customs etc to support a change in Christian beliefs and practices to that of the Jews.  Using Jews to mean the unbelieving ones as the Orthodox Jews and ignoring the believing ones as the Messianic.  These 4 categories became handed down theology to the Protestants and from whom today’s Christian churches and pastors take their understanding which in turn is passed onto congregations.

With this breakaway, translation of the then Latin bible into English seekers tried to find their way back to God’s way by self teaching.  The present day popular denominations were formed as a result.  Church of England about 1534, Methodist about 1750, The seventh Day Baptist, 7th Day Adventist of about 1840’s,  J.W. of about 1900, Pentecostal about the same time.  Apart from the Church of England which broke from the Roman Catholic Church for political reasons, the others were started by individuals who left their former church, started a bible study group which eventually became the bigger church denomination.  To my knowledge none of them went to the guardians of the oracles of God (the proper Messianic Jews, Acts 7:38 and Rom 3:2) to enquire about His ways.  The group who God said would be a light to the other nations were not consulted.  So ask yourself, why did God say Israel was to be a light to the world if it was not teach and show the world what God gave them. Act 8:30  And Philip ran thither to him, and heard him read the prophet Esaias, and said, Understandest thou what thou readest? Act 8:31  And he said, How can I, except some man should guide me? And he desired Philip that he would come up and sit with him. Act 8:35  Then Philip opened his mouth, and began at the same scripture, and preached unto him Jesus.   The example of the Bible is believing Jews, followers of the TORAH taught early believers.  Christians today belief the lie that they have replaced Israel “he will rule as God”.

Most research of Christians go no further back than “the church fathers”.  The fathers of the Christian church not of Yahweh’s of whom Abraham is the father if not Moses. "Papa" is the Latin of the Greek word "Pappas" meaning father from which "Pope" is derived and is its equivalent.  Father is the first Hebrew word with a numerical No. of 1.  It is used for God as in “Our Father who art in heaven”  and the ancestors of Israel, the fathers who received Yahweh’s oracles in the wilderness as mentioned in Acts 7:38.  So it is not a coincidence the Rome Catholic church chose to put themselves in the place of God and the true church fathers.  Catholic standing for “universal” or all embracing religion.  In other words whoever or whichever of the Baalims (lords) you worship as your lord you can be Catholic.  As Paul says, there are gods many and lords many.

Yahweh God is not of the lord system.  Nor is His church.  What does the final book of the Bible say about His church? Here are just a few of the things.  Rev 1:5 Yahshua, His son, our messiah is a faithful witness of His father.  Both, if you want to see them as two, are the Alpha, Omega, beginning, end, first and last (1:8,17).  Many claim to be of His Church, whether of the Ephesus, Smyrna or other branch. Even heads of or apostles of His church;  but are either liars or of the church of satan.  They do not do the first works as was required, keeping His TORAH /commandments.  They go as far to say the law is nailed to the cross, Jesus paid the price, so they do not need to repent (2:5).  He came to give them a physical abundant prosperous life rather than tribulation (2:10).  Misinterpreting scriptures as Col 2:16 so teach it is alright to eat all food even things sacrificed to idols providing they do charity, love their neighbour and have a type of faith (2:14,20).  That once they are baptised they cannot lose their salvation even if they do not hold fast to the end (2:26).  They deny the saviour’s real name, holding fast to a name that is not of the Messiah and think in it they live when are in fact dead (3:1,8).  Reading what the Spirit says to the church in chapters 1-3 the word repent and hear, is repeated.  How can and why should one repent if the law was taken away by God or His son?  Obviously the law was not.  Rev 14:12, 22:14 and many others summarise what God requires of His church members Rev  “Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city”.

So now you have been given some of the WHAT God requires, do not say or think, "so what", it does not matter. It does. Your response should be "now what" do I do to change my lifestyle.  In my mind, unless you or your church are living the TORAH with the added belief of accepting the blood of Yahshua for the forgiveness of your repented sins you are not in God’s scripturally identified congregation.  This afternoon we shall examine the scriptures Christians commonly misinterpret to claim a change either from Jew to Christianity or of not being obligated to keep the former  instructions of  Yahweh.  Until then I will leave you with Rom 3:31  Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law.  Rom 6:15  What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid. Rom 11:1  I say then, Hath God cast away his people? God forbid. For I also am an Israelite, of the seed of Abraham, of the tribe of Benjamin. Gal 2:17  But if, while we seek to be justified by Christ, we ourselves also are found sinners, is therefore Christ the minister of sin? God forbid. Gal 3:21  Is the law then against the promises of God? God forbid:

Isaiah 49:6 ... It is a light thing that thou shouldest be my servant to raise up the tribes of Jacob, and to restore the preserved of Israel: I will also give thee for a light to the Gentiles, that thou mayest be my salvation unto the end of the earth. Mat 12:17  That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias (Isaiah 42:1) the prophet, saying, Mat 12:18  Behold my servant, whom I have chosen; my beloved, in whom my soul is well pleased (Mat 3:17, 17:5): I will put my spirit (Yahweh’s) upon him (Yahshua his son), and he shall shew judgment to the Gentiles.

The real saviour tells us to keep the Law, God’s Torah (teachings) the false saviour, the imposter tells us to break it, that it was nailed to the cross.  That is one of the reasons Jews do not accept the Christian Jesus.

Psa 89:34 My covenant will I not break,  or alter the thing that is gone out of my lips. Rom 7:12  Wherefore the law is holy, and the commandment holy, and just, and good.  Compare to description of God in Deu 32:4.

Mat 12:50  For whosoever shall do the will of my Father which is in heaven, the same is my brother, and sister, and mother. 15:3, 6b keeping traditions instead of God’s commandments is transgression and takes away their very purpose, making one godly.

Mat 19:17  if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments. A similar answer is given in Luk 10:25-8.  Mat 19:20 All these things have I kept from my youth up: what lack I yet

Mar 1:21  And they went into Capernaum; and straightway on the Sabbath day he entered into the synagogue, and taught  Mar 1:23  And there was in their synagogue a man with an unclean spirit; and he cried out, Mar 3:1  And he entered again into the synagogue; and there was a man there which had a withered hand. Mar 6:2  And when the Sabbath day was come, he began to teach in the synagogue:

Rom 2:13 doers of the law are justified. Joh 12:50  And I know that his commandment is life everlasting:

Gen 22:18  And in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; because thou hast obeyed my voice.   God’s promise to the human race came through one man’s obedience (Abraham’s) as did the punishment from one man’s disobedience (Adam). Yahoshua came to be our one man / God saviour.
